Our smile makeover service improves your overall smile using the latest in cosmetic dentistry procedures. A smile makeover usually consists of two or more dental treatments to completely renew your look. The most common combinations include veneers, composite bonding, dental implants, and teeth whitening. When creating your perfect smile, we also take into consideration your facial structure, skin tone, and what shape and size of teeth looks best on you. We can really customize your smile makeover and make it unique to you.
What Does A Smile Makeover Fix?
Missing Teeth – Missing teeth have a major effect on the appearance of your smile and can be the first thing someone notices about you. Missing teeth also put you at risk for tooth decay because your remaining teeth are no longer supported. We replace these teeth because they are an integral part of your oral health and facial appearance. We use dental implants, bridges, and partial dentures depending on what you specifically need.
Spacing and Alignment – We can straighten overlapping or crooked teeth, as well as fix gaps between them. This can be done using our orthodontic service or using our veneer procedure. Whichever is the least invasive and most effective treatment is what we aim for.
Symmetry and Balance – Our procedure can treat both your teeth and your gum line. Any chipped or cracked teeth can be corrected using one of our cosmetic procedures, like bonding, for an overall improved appearance. We can also re-contour a smile to make your gums appear smaller in comparison with your teeth.
Facial Structure – A smile makeover can rejuvenate the overall structure of your face, making it look younger and fuller, and even giving you your jawline back. There are specific surgeries we offer for those with extensive oral damage. No matter how poor your oral health may be, it is never too late to change it and get your smile back.
Pre-Evaluation
There are other attributes we consider when evaluating what you need for a complete smile makeover. Our evaluation includes the following:
Smile Line – This refers to an imaginary line that goes along the edges of your upper teeth from one side to the other. This should actually be the same as the curve of your lower lip in order to create the best appearance. We use this as a reference to determine what length your teeth should be.
Tooth Length – As you age, natural wear and tear on your teeth tends to make them shorter over time. If you have a gummy smile, this can be particularly noticeable. Lengthening your teeth will give you a more youthful appearance. We can reshape and lengthen your teeth using bonding or veneers. If you have a gummy smile, we can modify your gum line to make your smile much more proportionate. Our periodontist can also lengthen any crowns you may have. The shape of your face will also determine what shape of teeth is best for you. For example, if you have a round face, we will work on giving you longer, more square teeth. This results in a slimming effect for your entire face.
Maintaining Your New Smile
After your procedure is complete, there are certain things you need to do to maintain your results. You still need to come in for your regular cleaning appointments every six months. If needed, we will use our whitening procedures to maintain brightness. Brushing twice a day and flossing daily is the best way to maintain your results in between appointments. We also recommend that you stay away from drinks and habits that can stain your new teeth. Some of the procedures we do are not resistant to stains and cannot be corrected with whitening.
Treatment durations and costs vary because each person will have different needs. Ultimately it will depend on your current oral health evaluation.
When you come in for your evaluation, we will develop a plan catered to you and your specific smile makeover. We conduct a detailed and comprehensive evaluation of your current oral health. We look at your teeth, gums, bite and jaw structure. This allows us to determine if you need any oral health issues taken care of before we begin your makeover.
To find out more about what our smile makeover procedure can do for you, come in for a consultation. We can even show you what your new smile can look like using digital technology. Don’t let the appearance of your smile hold you back from enjoying your life and family. We offer real, lasting solutions to give you your confidence back.
